Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) Edmonton plant was invited to the 31st annual Governor’s Safety and Health Conference and Exposition in Louisville on May 7th, 2015. There, SEWS’ Edmonton Plant received the Governor’s Safety Award. The award is given to establishments that do not have any safety or health violations and have not experienced any lost time injuries or illnesses, and as of June, the facility has worked over 1,000,000 hours without a lost time accident. SEWS Edmonton plant has achieved 1,407,158 hours worked without a lost time accident.

The Governor’s Safety Award program focuses on promoting safety and health awareness as well as reducing overall injuries and illnesses in the work environment. SEWS was one of 48 Kentucky businesses to receive the award.
