Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc.’s South Central Kentucky facilities recently joined forces to take part in the United Way of Southern Kentucky’s 7th Annual Day of Caring. Each location held collection drives to support the local school district’s Family Resource Centers’ English Language Learners’ (ELL) Classrooms and the Barren River Area Safe Space (B.R.A.S.S).

The drives collected a variety of school supply items needed to help stock the English Language Learners’ classrooms, as well as stuffed animals for B.R.A.S.S., a regional domestic violence shelter. B.R.A.S.S. gives children who first arrive at the shelter a stuffed animal of their own which so often times acts as a source of comfort. After completion of the drives, SEWS was able to donate over 300 stuffed animals and several boxes of school supplies to be used by these organizations.

SEWS is incredibly proud of its associates and their contributions that support charitable causes, and looks forward to continuing the effort to give back to our local communities.
