Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) was recently recognized for its exemplary safety record at the 32nd Annual Governor’s Safety and Health Conference, held in Louisville, Kentucky on May 12th. Two SEWS facilities received the prestigious Governor’s Safety and Health award for working a combined 2,469,811 hours without a lost time accident.
Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) manufacturing plants in Scottsville and Edmonton, Kentucky were invited to attend the annual conference, which recognizes businesses that do not have any safety or health violations and have not experienced any lost time injuries or illnesses.
“We are proud of the effort and dedication our associates make in order to keep themselves and their fellow associates safe,” said Scottsville Plant Manager Alan Bomar. “Even with busy and demanding schedules, our associates continued to keep their focus on safety. We are honored to be recognized by the state once again for our safety standards.”
The Governor’s Safety Award program focuses on promoting safety and health awareness as well as reducing overall injuries and illnesses in the work environment. SEWS was among 48 Kentucky businesses to receive the award.
