Requirements for Electronic Data Interchange with Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems:

  1. Complete the EDI Questionnaire (Microsoft Excel Format)
  2. Email the completed form to sewsediprogrammers@sewsus.com
  3. Suppliers will need the capability to communicate with our VAN(Covisint) or Via ANX for their EDI messages transmissions and receipts.
    1. Covisint is our VAN (Value Added Network) and provides Sumitomo a single connection to exchange EDI messages with our partners. It has a established interconnects with all major VANs in the automotive industry as well as many others.
    2. The ANX Network is a secure virtual data network that allows for direct connections between North American companies.
  4. Suppliers must have a contingency plan in place when the suppliers internal processes fail so that EDI information can still be exchanged.
  5. If suppliers are not EDI capable a 3rd party service bureau can be used.
